02/08/2009 aRO Official Last Announcement Dear fellow players and friends,
We've been passing through some difficulties the past months, some of them are noticeable by all of you, some others not. One of our biggest problems was the lack of time of the majority of our main admin and development team. This is why we couldn't handle of time the majority of updates and changes that the server needs.
Recently we had another issue to manage, our Shared Server Provider decided to shut down all the Ragnarok Servers from their hosting, giving us almost no advice to make the changes needed to move the server, that's why the server got shutted down a couple weeks ago. We decided to move our information to another hosting, we bought a Dedicated Server on another location with better specs, but they were using a different version of eAthena, we tried to match our databases to that version but we couldn't.
Right now, almost all the admins have 0 time to spare on taking care of the server, since we are all attending to University, getting our titles and some of us getting master's degrees. We can manage to get the server back up, but we won't be able to take care of it anymore.
We are very sad like most of you cause we put a lot of effort on this project and it's hard for us to shut the server down, but right now there's no more options for us, we are tired, busy and with no time to take care of a Ragnarok server at the moment.
Now its official, Alliance Ragnarok Online is officialy closed, we will keep the site and forums up for a couple weeks more then they will be shutted down aswell.
Our true apologizes to all of us, thanks to all the people who helped us and believed in us, we will be always grateful to all of you. Thanks for all the people around the world who stayed all this time and also to those who left, we shared a lot of good and bad experiencies, we will keep those in our hearts and minds forever.
Finally, we will refund the donations of those who donated on January, because you couldn't enjoy those donation time on the server, that's the last thing we will do with the few money remaining.

Punishment non-fair play in War of Emperium is a minimum 2 day jail. Repeated offences may have longer punishments.

* Rates were increased to 12x/12x/6x, the rates for boss and miniboss cards will stay at 3x.
* Experience cap was changed to 400% (was 210% previously), now you can get your first levels faster.
* WoE time will be changed to 21:00 GMT permanently.
* Next week we will have castle change, one in Prontera and one in Geffen, they will be announced soon.
* Next week we will implement novice land for newcomers.
